In Memoriam: Robin Mansfield

1989-90 Lieutenant Governor, Division 21 Kiwanis

Robin Mansfield, a longtime member of the now-defunct Mission Valley Kiwanis Club and many other local charities, passed away in his sleep on August 24th. He was 90 years old.

 

Mansfield was born on August 3rd, 1926 in Tampa, Florida, moving to San Diego when his father took a job as a newspaper reporter. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, Mansfield returned to San Diego, attending San Diego State College, and becoming a CPA. He also managed the Caliente Race Track and worked as an accountant for the company that would later become Jack in the Box.

 

In addition to his years in the Mission Valley Kiwanis Club, where he served as Division 21 Lt. Governor in 1989-90, Mansfield was also a member of the Scottish Rite Masons, and a coach for Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne, in 1999.
