2006-2007 Lt. Governors (bcc’d) and Kiwanians addressed:

 

We have recently been informed that 2006-2007 Lt. Governor for Division 47, Peggy Poortinga passed away on November 16, 2016. Peggy was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Yucca Valley since 1997 and joined Kiwanis in 1993. She was currently serving as the club’s secretary and treasurer, and had been serving in both roles for many years. She also was a past president of the club, as well as a Distinguished Service Award recipient and Hixson Award recipient. 

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, 56750 Mountain View Trail, Yucca Valley, CA 92284. Flowers may be sent to the church under Peggy’s name.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Peggy’s favorite charity, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Yucca Valley, P.O. Box 402, Yucca Valley, CA 92286 (contact Kristine Perrance at 760-821-3702) or to the Key Club of Yucca Valley High School, via the Kiwanis Club of Greater Yucca Valley, attn.: President Will Kading, P.O. Box 2191, Yucca Valley, CA 92286 or to the Kiwanis Club in her name. The Kiwanis club will be making a donation to the cross country team of Yucca Valley High School in her name. Donations may also be sent in her name to the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church.

 

Cards and notes of condolence may be sent to Peggy’s address, attn.: her daughter Debbie Chavez, at 61094 Prescott Trail, Joshua Tree, CA 92252.

 

Please keep her daughters Debbie (and husband Al) and Kathy in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
