1996-1997 Lt. Governors and Kiwanis Leaders addressed:

It Is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Joan Booth, 1996-1997 Lt. Governor for Division 23. Joan was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Reno since 1988. She also served as the District’s New Member Orientation chairman in 1998-1999 and the Special Olympics chairman for seven years spanning from 2001-2012.

Her daughter Karen shared the following:

In Loving Memory of Joan Laura Booth. Joan passed away peacefully in her home on May 26th 2017 in Reno Nevada.

She was born on October 12th 1940 to Joseph & Rosalie Marsh in Denver Colorado. She was 77 years old. Joan leaves behind her loving daughter Karen Peacock, brother Jim Marsh and niece Stacy Marsh. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Booth, who passed away in 1982. They spent their years together enjoying life and exploring the world. Joan’s passion was to travel. Joan was a true inspiration to all that had the pleasure to meet her. Joan joined the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Reno in 1988. She was one of the first females to join the Club and rose to become the first female President of the Club and then was voted in to become the first female to become the Kiwanis Division 23, Lt. Governor. She was involved with and loved The Special Olympics. Joan was a crime lab investigator for the Washoe County Jail and volunteered for them for many years. Joan enjoyed life to the fullest. She lived, loved and laughed. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her!

Joan would be pleased to have her friends & family donate to the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Reno or to The Special Olympics.
