Excerpt of a Foundation email message sent a few years ago regarding Richard:
As a past Lt. Governor of Division 22, Richard's tenure in the Kiwanis family began in 1981 when he joined the Kauai High School Key Club, and served as his
Key Club's president during his junior year. Richard's involvement with Kiwanis didn't stop when his Key Club presidency concluded.
Richard continued to serve in Key Club and was recognized for his service and leadership with
a scholarship from the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation. Upon graduating from the University of Southern California, Richard moved
back to Hawaii where his Kiwanis service resumed.
Richard has served as an advisor to the Kapaa High School Key Club, past president of the Kauai Kiwanis club and is the current president of the Kahului, Maui Kiwanis club. Richard joined the CNH Foundation Board
of Directors in 2012.
"I've always been grateful for receiving a Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation scholarship . . . As a director I always endeavor to support the Foundation's efforts, not just to help protect
children in our district from pediatric trauma, but more important to me, to provide scholarships to our district's SLP members."
- Richard Minatoya, CNH Foundation Director

As you can see by his accomplishments and activities, Richard will be sorely missed by so many of his Kiwanis Ohana (family) and the surrounding communities in which
he served as such an active and important participant.
Please keep Richard and his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
