We have recently been informed that John Spann, who served during the first class of District Trustees for the term of 2008-2010 for Region 5 and was the 1995-1996 Lt. Governor for Division 28, passed away on January 1, 2017.   John served on the Foundation Board from 2000-2006 and was instrumental in expanding the partner hospital program into Nevada.

John was also our phone provider for the District Office in Rancho Cucamonga several years back and volunteered many hours in conjunction with setting up our telecommunication needs.

His wife Lynda informed us he had a stroke five years ago and made a good recovery initially; however, the past 18 months he had declined and is now finally at peace.

His memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121 ph: 702-458-2241. An Open House to follow the services at 2221 Versailles Court, Henderson, NV 89074 (Lynda's cell (702) 325-5811)

His obituary will be in the Las Vegas Review Journal the week before the service.

Lynda said: "I met John in Las Vegas 1975 and we married in 1976.  February 14th would be our 41st wedding anniversary.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a kind and generous man who gave unselfishly of his time to the community.  He told it how it was and always stood his ground.  He will be missed."
