Re:        Training Preparation and Attire

Dear Lt. Governors for 2017-18:

I am looking forward to working with you and to preparing for our year at the Lt. Governor Training on May 18-21, 2017.  This Training weekend will be a training unlike any that has taken place before.  We have created new presentations and materials to enable you to have a productive and fun year.  Please complete your registration with the District office so proper arrangements can be made for you.

The Agenda that was sent to you was sent without my knowledge, and it is actually a draft for the trainers only. You will receive an accurate agenda with your training materials upon arrival at the Training weekend.

Training for Membership Growth and New Clubs
These training sessions have been developed specifically for you to provide real information about how to develop your membership team to assist you with your Division's membership growth, stabilizing existing clubs, promoting existing clubs' growth, why and how to assess where new clubs should and can exist, and other critical matters.

Materials to bring to Training weekend:
1.  Please have identified one or more geographical areas that could be possible sites for new club locations.
2.  Please bring with you a list of all the SLP clubs within your Division that includes their sponsor clubs.  You may see that some do not have a sponsor club.  You may see that you do not yet have an Aktion Club within your Division. These are part of the factors we will be reviewing for your Division growth.
3.   Personal computer, optional, but see below about Communications and Technology.

Communications and Technology
We will be studying communications: among ourselves, within the District and to the public at large.  You are encouraged to bring your personal computer with you.  Rita Germain will provide personal assistance to you with regard to Facebook or other computer issues that pertain to our District leadership jobs.  As our year gets underway, further technology assistance will be available to you along the way, as issues arise for you.   For your individualized internet training, we have Wifi at the District office, where we will training on Friday. Those of you staying in the hotel may have hotel Wifi for the days we are training there. We will have Hotspot capability to get you on the internet.  If you don't know what that means, you are in training group NO. 1!

Training Weekend Attire
The attire for the Training weekend is casual.  Please wear comfortable clothing.  On Saturday evening, we are going out to a restaurant, and we can all wear an aloha shirt. Please wear any District Aloha or Hawaiian print shirt you like.

Team Attire in General
The main thing about attire is that you are asked to dress appropriately for the occasion.  If you are going to an event where SLP officers will be present, and you know they will be in a suit, please dress accordingly.  If you are going to a picnic, dress casually.

The team shirt will be a bright blue polo or other style, and I will have an embroidered sample  for your review and forms for purchase at the Training weekend.  There will be a tie and a scarf, also.

For business or dress occasions, I will wear a bright blue jacket with matching blue top (or an ivory lace top) and black slacks or skirt, possibly white slacks in summer.  However, I am not asking you to find a matching outfit to mine, but we should look somewhat matching when we are together.

For our Installation in August 2017, as well as other business or dress occasions, I would like the men and women to be in a black suit.  The men can wear a white or blue shirt with the Team Tie, which will be blue. The ladies can wear any black skirt or slacks with a black jacket or wrap.  The ladies can find a bright blue top, as they are still in fashion, or a white top with the scarf.  If the ladies have a bright blue dress that you would like to wear at Installation, you are welcome to do so.  If any man doesn't have a black suit, you can wear a navy blazer, dark grey slacks and a white or blue shirt with the blue Team tie.

For casual occasions, we will wear our Team Shirt. There may be various styles for you to select from, I am still working with a vendor on prices.  You can wear the team shirt with almost any color slacks.  I will probably wear white or black capri pants (in warm weather) or slacks.

Our pin is ready, and you will receive one at the Training weekend.

Hawaii Attire 2018
When we go to Hawaii for our group's Dcon, we will not be wearing suits.  We will decide later what to wear for our retirement.

Thank you for your service Ca-Nev-Ha on behalf of the children of the world!
